So since Ringer is coming on like right now, and that’s the official start of my fall TV season, here’s my TV Renew/Cancel Pie Graphs that I made for 2010-2011.  As you can (hopefully) see, green is renewed and gray is canceled.  The big graph is overall hours.  The whole thing is scripted series.  All of the data is courtesy of TVbytheNumbers, a blog I definitely would recommend to anyone. 
As you can see, freshman shows were EPIC FAILS. Over 70% of them were cancelled while over 80% of returning shows were renewed (and every single returning sitcom was renewed)  You can also see that CBS is the most succesful network for scripted series, followed by FOX then ABC then NBC, and that the success rate for sitcoms is higher than the success rate for dramas on all four networks, but not for freshman shows
